What is the OBAA?
The OBAA is the Oklahoma Body Art Alliance, made up of State Licensed Tattoo artists and Piercersof Oklahoma. We operate through the consensus of shops, working together and voting on all measrues.

Why was the OBAA formed?
The OBAA was formed to fight the already deemed unconstitutional regulations that the OSHD (Oklahoma State Health Department) have decided to reinforce which include,
1. $100K assurity bond for all tattoo and piercing studios in Oklahoma.
2.Shops must be 1,000 feet from a school, church, or playground.
not to mention,
3. Shops must publish 3 weeks before renewal of shop license every year.

Rules 1 and 2 were declared unconstitutional in 2007, however the law was never changed, and now OSDH is seeking in enforcement of said laws.
The OBAA was formed to fight the enforcement of these unconstitutional laws.
What is the OBAA doing?
1. Form a professional organization to be embedded in the health department and help guide the department in regulating the industry. (We are the only professional licensure without representation in the health department)
2. Litigation and legal negotiations
3. Work with our state legislators to correct the current laws and remove the unconstitutional provisions.
